Soracom Air Errors

Soracom Air stores error logs for the last 14 days that can be viewed from the User Console or API. These errors can be used for debugging when troubleshooting issues with your deployment.

The following error messages can be found in the error logs:

Error Message Explanation Troubleshooting
  • unable to deliver short message: absent subscriber sm, message-id: {message ID}
  • unable to deliver short message: unexpected user error: {error_code}, message-id: {message}
SMS messages are not reaching the IoT SIM.

SMS messages are sent when utilizing the following features:
There are various possible causes for this error:
  • The IoT SIM is installed in a device that does not have SMS functionality.
  • The IoT SIM's current data session does not have sufficient signal strength for SMS delivery.
  • The IoT SIM is not currently in a data session.
If SMS messages are unable to be delivered they will be retried following the behavior outlined in SMS Failure.
